A Psalm to my God

What could I give a God who has the world in His hands?

What did I do to deserve a God who listens to my prayers?

Who graces me with more than I could ever ask for?

What could I ever do for You but give You my whole heart?

I have done nothing in this lifetime to deserve the grace You bestow upon me day after day.

Who am I, to deserve Your presence in my life, so strongly?

There is no life I want apart from You, Lord.

I pray to never leave Your side, Lord.

I will choose You–

every

single

time.

Every day.

Nothing is worth more than Your presence.

I will never betray You, Lord.

For this world, never.

There is nothing this world could offer that compares to You, God.

Never let me stray.

Please Lord, my God. My heart is Yours. I will seek You always.

The day I said yes to You, I left the world behind. My life was no longer mine. A life I never wanted and only wanted while I wandered.

I wander no longer, Lord.

Hear my words, my God.

You have me in the palms of Your hands and I pray to never leave.

Never put me down.

I will never let You leave my mind–my heart.

I am Yours forever, Lord.

Read my heart to the depths and tell me it’s true.

If You find anything I say to be untrue Lord, then take me now.

A life without wanting You is a life I don’t need, God.

Read me and tell me it’s true.

There is nothing else I know and no one can tell me it’s wrong.

My compass, my northern star. The tug of my existence. The cord and the source.

My God, I will love You forever.

Keep me close, Lord. I wish to stay beside You until the end of all time.

And even after that.

There’s nothing I want more.

Amen.
