Or did I leave them in my drafts?
I never really check my inbox anymore and it’s probably the reason I think I’m alone.
The world never went inside, I just stopped coming out.
Instead I’m swirling in circles with my gaze to the sky wondering where the rain is.
And so I pray.
Pray for longer days,
pray for more rain.
I try and wake up early to catch the final mist fall
only to be drowned by the beauty of new risings—drowned back into the slumber of it all.
Where did the song birds go? And why have I not heard they left?
I check the time to realize there’s no other moment so I wait to hear their call;
Ram
Ram
Ram
I hear the hum of the Mountain Meru.
And his daughter—
speaking through the veins that run within.
Where will I ever go?
And how will I know I got there?
This,
I wonder on a night the crickets chirp louder than usual.
This,
I wonder on this night.
