I don’t know if someone warned me.
Maybe they did.
I’ve heard phrases of working hard and being strong.
I wonder if they were ever directed towards me.
I didn’t know life would be this hard.
I didn’t know life would be this easy.
There are some people who figured it out;
there are some people who never did.
And then there’s those still trying to figure it out.
And sometimes they never do.
I can’t say I know in which category I stand.
Maybe I stand above;
watching it all go down like the game it really is.
I came here to win, I tell myself.
I did.
And I’m not leaving until I do.
The definition of winning varies from one to another.
Winning to me
is knowing life;
knowing Self;
knowing God;
and knowing strength.
Perseverance is key.
It always will be when trying to accomplish something.
So today, I persevere.
