Are poets destined to fall in love forever?

I remember one time, listening to the words of another traveling poet.

In his deepest sincerity, he asked himself, why do I fall in love with every single person I meet?

I had heard these words a few years back.

And when I did, it was as if someone had stole them right out my mind before they could hit my own lips.

Being further on my journey, the words of one of my teachers Ram Dass, explained it beautifully.

He said something along the lines of, the love we find in others is a reflection of Universal Love.

One person could walk by and you think you’re in love. Another person walks by 5 mins after and you’re in love again.

There is nothing that separates the two.

The Love you are finding is the Love that’s already within. Within you, within all.

You are only looking at that reflection of Source. That person is a reminder of the Love you already hold within yourself.

I explained this to someone recently. I wonder if they understood…

As a writer,

as a poet,

as someone who’s destined to speak with people,

how could I not fall in love?

Treat everyone you meet as if they are God in drag.

Ram Dass

Everyone is God. This is a hard thing to remember for most.

As a devotee,

as someone who dedicates their heart and soul to God itself,

how could I not fall in love?

It’s things like this I ponder through the day.

Some days are cloudy, some are not.

It’s all the same.
